AUDEMARS Piguet Royal Oak Offshore DIVER in Black 'n' ORANGE

By TLex Take the plunge with the Royal Oak Offshore Diver in black ceramic and orange! The new version on the ROO Diver Ref. 15707CE.00.A002CA.01 is one of AP's novelties unveiled at SIHH 2013.



It's 42.0mm x 13.90mm case is made from black ceramic. It features a glare-proofed Sapphire crystal, a Titanium glare-proofed Sapphire crystal caseback, a black ceramic bezel and crowns and Titanium lug links. It has a water-resistance 300m. The watch is powered by an AP Manufacture self-winding caliber 3120.

The black dial is with 'Méga Tapisserie' (waffle to you and me) pattern with white gold applied hour-markers and hands with luminescent coating. It features a black inner rotational divers bezel with a diving scale and zone from 12 to 3 o'clock in orange.



I absolutely LOVE the the color concept. The black case and dial with the orange hour hand, diving scale and second pointer so work. But I'm not sure I'd enjoy wearing a ceramic watch - it would feel a little too light and toyish for me. What's wrong with DLC'd steel? Would have been my choice!
