CX Swiss Military Watch TYPHOON

By TLex This is a real beast of a watch! Not a 'true' diver (CX Swiss Military Watches have a tradition of making world record breaking mechanical diving chronographs), but nevertheless a watch that is very much home at home in the ocean.

The new Typhoon Reagatta has been designed for timing yachting contests. However it offers all the functionality needed for most types of water sports - scuba diving included thanks to 200m of water-resistance, a screwdown crown and caseback and a uni-directional rotating timing bezel that has been manufactured out of solid Titanium and reinforced with carbon fiber.

This unique combination of Titanium reinforced with carbon fiber has been used for the 45mm main case, ensuring not only a light-weight sports watch but a timepiece that is highly resistant to saltwater corrosion.

It is fitted with a Sapphire crystal that protects the intricately designed dial, where all the information needed for yachting can be found.

The watch is powered by a Swiss aade ISA cal. 8270 with rotating stepping motors and a quick date correction.

Functions include: hour; minute; small second at 2pm, regatta timing: adjustable countdown function with acoustic alarm, post-countdown chronograph with 96 hour counter at 10h, central minute counter and second counter at 10h, alarm and date at 6h. The countdown function has an acoustic alert in addition to a visual indication.

The TYPHOON is available in four dial colors - silver, black, arctic blue and signal orange - each with highly luminous Superluminova™ markers. There's a fair amount going on with the Typhoon's design, but I would still expect to be one tough watch based on experience with other CX models, and that bracelet is plain cool!
