CLERC Hydroscaph H1 CHRONOMETER

By TLex If you hadn't already noticed the Hydroscaph H1 banner flying proudly at the top of the page, here's a 2nd look at the watch, which is available in a number distinctive interpretations.

As formidable a diving instrument as its siblings, every bit as powerful and technical, the Hydroscaph H1 from CLERC is the latest addition to the popular Hydroscaph family.

However being a three hands model it allows for a simpler dial configuration than those with Chrono or GMT complications, meaning that the H1 should give divers the ability to more easily read dive-time at a glance.

The Hysdroscaph H1 is based on the same type of chassis as other models in the Hydroscaph collection. Constructed from high-grade Stainless steel and with over 81 individual case parts. Its dimensions are 43.80 mm in diameter or 48mm if we are to include its lateral reinforcements.

Special features include: CLERC’s exclusive caseband with lateral reinforcements and an octagonal crown-activated rotating bezel, a signature feature of the Hydroscaph family, as well as CLERC's proprietary adaptable lug mechanism.

Because diver safety is so crucial, the 2 o’clock crown is used to operate the bezel, but only after prior deployment of its built-in retractable flap.

The H1 case is fitted with 4mm thick anti-reflective treated Sapphire crystal and an exhibition caseback. It has a water-resistance of 500 meters / 50ATM.

Its matte dial is with individually machined 3D SuperLuminova applied applique markers. They have been angled in such a way that they give the illusion that the dial is half submerged in water.

The Hydroscaph's characteristic tuning-fork style handset can be had in a number contrasting colors such as; red, blue or fluorescent yellow and green.

The minute hand has been been distinctively colored so that it is easily distinguishable from the hour hand; another diver safety feature. The scrolling date window at 3 o’clock has a matching indicator with the minute hand.

The H1 is powered by CLERC's exclusive C609 C.O.S.C Certified Chronometer self-winding movement with 21 jewels beating at 28’800 vib/h. It bridges are adorned with a Côtes de Genève motif and blue screws.

It has 42-hours of power reserve. Functions include: hours, minutes, sweep second and date. The watch is presented on either a vulcanized rubber divers strap or a Louisiana alligator strap with a folding clasp.
